This is not so much a review of Paris, but a Warning about the hotel we stayed at. Hotel Little Regina Boulevard De Strasbourg, 10th arr.
Site picture is NOT what you get. It is a Bait-and-Switch. You think you are getting one room, BUT, Nooooooo. If you want to feel like you are in a terrorist prison cell, then this is the place for you.
It was sooooo tiny. They stuck in a second bed adjacent to the window, so access to the closet and shelves could only be gained by climbing up on the bed.
The WC was at another end of the unit, so to get to it, you would have to negotiate around a night stand, then a corner, IN THE DARK!
I had to buy a flashlight for my Mother so she wouldn't stub her toes in the night. The oscillating fan could only be used from the corner, so no fresh air,no AC.
In the double-bed, since my husband slept in the "Aisle" spot, I was up against the wall. Nice on a hot August night with the fan blowing hot air on you because you can't open the window because the person sleeping next to it will be kept awake by the street noise traffic.
Even the Wi-Fi didn't work, had to go to the lobby to use when doing pre-checkin for airport. Charged for an extra day of VAT even though we left early.
The best part of the Hotel Little Regina was leaving. So if you want a really small squashed rat-hole, with a maze-like configuration, this this is the place for you.
TIP: Check out the online sites. There are sooooo many other places around there that they will treat you nice, value you business, give you a little respect, and, not as expensive.
Stay Away from this place. This was my 3rd trip to Paris, and the best one, largely because the 1st arr. My friend and I were only there barely 24 hours, and it was not difficult to make the most of our time.
I really enjoyed my first experience eating at Le Souffle, never had eaten souffles made like this before.
My friend and I enjoy most of the shops along Rue St Honore, and while metro stations are a bit of a walk, getting to other areas is still manageable.
The restaurant Giaio Mia is a longtime favorite and the third time dining there for dinner did not disappoint, highly recommended as are reservations.
Hotel de Vendome is a bit pricey but worth it, especially if you can get a deal on an upgraded room -- very charming boutique hotel and amenities with wonderful staff.
I stayed in two hotels in Paris, both on the Left Bank. If my trip hadn't been broken up with other locations outside of Paris I might have rented an apartment which I have done in the past.
I lived on Rue Vaneau in A lot has changed. The location of the Hotel Vaneau was great, the mattress was great, the bathroom was lovely and the front desk was nice and helpful.
I took the bus for the first time which is really fun. The metro doesn't teach one the streets so it was fun to take the bus 39 I think right over to the Louvreand watch everyoneall of the timethe children, the dogs, etc.
Paris is always great even if the weather isn't. And, Bon Marche is so close along with the Grande Epicerie. Restaurant Petit Lutece straight across on Rue de Sevres.
I did love the Left Bank Hotel on Rue de L'Ancienne Comedie. What a location!! Charming rooms, helpful people at the desk.
Two minutes from Eric Kayser, the boulangeriepain du chocolate. Yum about everything in Paris. Been home a week and am ready to go back.
Paris is nice, especially when it is your first time to visit the country. The iconic tower was magnificent.
I like the food, museums, and the structures. However there are things that I didn't like which are: I don't feel that it is safe especially during night.
Pickpockets are a lot so you have to be careful always with your belongings. There are beggars along the street and no have place to stay. Their trains are not clean.
Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower I have always wanted to see and they did not dissappoint. Paris is full of interesting places, buildings and parks.
Walking the wide vibrant streets of Paris is a joy. The Metro system is great for getting places and very cheap. Food away from the main attractions was very good and reasonable in price especially the Indian Restaurant close to the hotel.
Hotel Des Batignolles is a lovely place to stay, it is very clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
Bedroom needs a mirror and tea and coffee facilities. I would stay again. Having travelled to Paris previously whereby I saw and visited all the major 'tourist attractions' including Monet's Garden and Versailles which are both worth seeing, however, a day trip out of Paris , I ventured off the beaten track a little this time and booked a group of local guides very French and saw the local hidden sights The secret passageways, Montmarte, Macaroon cooking school and I did the Louvre again because you just can't over-do the Louvre and I went to bars and restaurants and cafes that the 'locals' haunt.
It was a different experience and one that introduced me to so much more than previously. I actually did not even walk the Champs Elysse!
I stayed in the Marais District 4th Arr - so French indeed - and found that I walked to so many gorgeous little restaurants try Chez Julian, Ralph Lauren Cafe and fashion boutiques that most tourists would not frequent.
I also stayed in a little boutique hotel with a Bar next door normally I choose the grand 5 star style and it was a really lovely experience to chat to all the staff each day and have a drink with the other guests in the Hotel only 8 rooms in the Hotel.
I recommend this style of visit to Paris if you have already ticked the major attractions previously and you want to experience another side to Paris.
The staff was very helpful, always someone on duty in the lobby. The outside door is locked at some point at night for security, but if you knock, the night staff will open up for you.
I had a travel planning mishap and had added this hotel onto the front part of my stay in Paris, requiring me to move to another hotel mid-trip.
The staff was lovely about storing my luggage for me until afternoon when I could check-in, allowing me to continue my Paris adventure without escorting my luggage : I enjoyed using the elevator to my room on the 4th floor, as well as use of my private bathroom.
The hostess knew Russian which was a really surprise and pleasure! She is a really nice person! Thanks a lot to her.
The people who work there are also really nice! There is an air conditioner, where you can control the temperature of the room!
I really like my stay, thank you! We stayed here for the 2nd time and it was lovely as ever! All of the staff are excellent, their friendliness and professionalism is exceptional.
Free on-site parking is rare to find in Paris, highly appreciated! I liked the view on Eiffel Tower! There was also a special price for one night cause we booked it just at the same day of stay.
Great offer for those who book not in advance and just for 1 night! We got a complimentary upgrade to a brand new room which we appreciate a lot.
Also it is in the hotel benefit as we travel a lot to Paris so a returning guest. Excellent staff! Kahn, the gentleman that helped us was exceptional and friendly..
He even loan us an European power adapter. Location was near the train station. Value for your money. Very convenient location bec it is across the street from Bir Hakeim and a minute walk to the Eiffel Tower.
Great location, the room was clean, the staff very welcoming and supporting all the time. The breakfast was really good Thank you.
I like the fact it was close to the Eiffel Tower, lots of restaurants and a supermarket around the corner. Excellent location. Concierge and Reception were extremely helpful.
Nothing was too much trouble. Nice, clean, with lots of eating places, and within walking distance to metro.
This hotel is the best in Paris, and I will definitely coming back to it. The stuff is very friendly! Great location!
We enjoyed Paris! Can you put the reservation car parking in the same page. Great location, quaint Parisian hotel. Friendly staff. List your property.
